Maison Veuve Clicquot

Champagnehuset Veuve Clicquot ligger i Reims og høster deres druer på ca. 50-60 forskellige Cru-marker i Champagne.

Veuve Clicquot blev grundlagt i 1772 af Philippe Clicquot. I dag er den franske virksomhed verdensberømt og en af de største champagneproducenter – deres mest kendte Yellow Label champagne er "Den Gule Enke" (Madame Clicquot).

The modern day Maison of Veuve Clicquot possesses one of the finest champagne vineyards, both in terms of its size and the quality of its vines. Its 390 ha are divided between 12 of the 17 Grands Crus, and between 20 of the 44 Premiers Crus that constitute the entire Champagne region. This exceptional heritage was built up over the centuries, founded upon the parcels first established by the founder, and added to by subsequent vineyard directors. In particular, Veuve Clicquot bears the fortuitous territorial mark of Madame Clicquot.
On 5 July 2015, the World Heritage Committee announced its decision to list the Vineyards, Houses and Cellars of the Champagne region as UNESCO World Heritage sites.
